My Gilda’s club experience!

Yesterday was my third party as a dancer/DJ at a Gilda’s Club. My second at the Barrie location.

Wow… The energy there was amazing!!!

For those of you who don’t know, Gilda’s club is a place where kids and families who have been affected by cancer come for support.

I had people coming up to me after the party saying “I have no idea how to thank you, this is the most she’s been away from me/has smiled since her dad got diagnosed.”

Another family had lost their wife/mother a week prior and they were dancing along with us.

There were several families, kids and friends there affected by cancer who have been through very difficult times. We had the immense pleasure and opportunity to change the mood for a night from heavy to light, bright and happy by dancing, celebrating, singing and playing limbo to tunes by yours truly ;).

Having the opportunity to help in some small way by going with an incredible team of people to throw a neon inspired party was so much fun and truly an honour!

Sometimes all someone needs is a moment of happiness, or a moment to forget problems or the current situation.

I am so happy I got and get to be a party of that <3!
