What kind of music do you play at a wedding?

What kind of music do you play at a wedding?

Great question! There are many parts to a wedding:

  • Guest arrival for ceremony (usually soft, romantic music)
  • Ceremony (walking down the isle, signing any contracts and walking out in celebration)
  • Cocktail Hour (This can be string quartet music, soft edm, Buena Vista Social Club, Motown etc. – Think Medium tempo music)
  • Dinner (Normally the slowest music of the evening, Jazz, R&B, Acoustic music etc. There are also formalities during dinner like grand entrances, first dance, parent dances, games and speeches.)
  • Dancing (The highest BPM music with the most energy. Give your DJ a few requests and genre ideas. If they have experience, let them read the crowd!)
